Ø His upsets w/ some of religious people of day

ACTION +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø Today see another temptation of us who are serious about
our religion
Ø Tempted to B sure & secure in relationship w/ G
Ø And set up regulations or mandatory practices
Ø B tempted 2 think fulfilling/doing these assures R
relationship w/ G
Ø May be Sun/daily Mass, rosary, fasting, donating to
charity / R practices become ends in selves
Ø When this happens, easily forget why started them in 1st
place
Ø Tempted 2 find safety & security in these & B
unmindful of R inner relationship w/ God
INNER
ACTION ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø What has J concerned about w/ Pharisees in Gos
Ø Wants us 2B transformed w/i 2 C R relationship w/ G = ultimately
matter of R inner spirit
Ø For it’s here God lives and can B found
Ø So, all practices we have can B good, but must do them w/
a focus to B transformed into persons of respect & empathy 4 others…
Ø Persons of justice & mercy, who live by inner,
spiritual values, instead of outer, material values
CONCLUSION +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø Perhaps bottom line is this:
Ø We have 2 invest selves in prayers & liturgy & good
works not just for the sake of our doing them,
Ø But for sake of allowing G to act thru them 2 transform
us into persons formed in his likeness
