TOTAL SURRENDER ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What does it mean 2B totally surrendered 2 God?
Ø
It means 2 enter into G’s mind & to discern G’s
will
Ø
It means 2 open ourselves 2 God’s will so, day
after day, it sets the direction for my actions
Ø
It is to say, “Here I am, Lord. Speak, your servant is listening.”
Ø
While all those speak of total giving, they
don’t sound very practical
1ST BE
GROUNDED +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø
Those experienced in the spiritual life tell us
we can find the clarity of God’s will and the strength to do it
moment-by-moment, day-by-day
Ø
Three tools are offered as a way to do so
Ø
1st it means that when I am able to
be still, to ground myself, to be attentive – that all those conditions open
God’s will up to me
Ø
It’s like taking a treasure box in my hands,
finding a quiet place to sit, gently cracking open the lid and voila! The
treasure gets revealed.
2ND
PRESENT NOT PAST OR FUTURE +++++++++++++++
Ø
The 2nd powerful thing about the
present moment is that because I’m focused here-and-now in this moment, the
past doesn’t intrude and the future isn’t considered
Ø
All that matters is right now. Ups, gone! Right
now. No, that’s gone. Right now. No that’s gone & so on
Ø
Thus, I am able to endure difficulties,
struggles and challenges with greater calmness and equanimity
3RD FLOW
OF GRACE +++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø
Finally, now that I’m (1) Present to the moment,
(2) Without baggage of past or future, (3) the grace of God can flow more
easily
Ø
G’s promise to sustain & bless me can be
realized
CONCLUSION

Let’s let duty to awareness of the present moment
be our commitment to know God’s will
Ø
Let’s let the duty to awareness of the present moment
be the wellspring from which we drink and are nourished both to know and do
God’s will
