April 20, 2016
THE CONDITION OF DARKNESS ++++++++++++++++++
Ø  The worst feature of darkness, it is so bewildering
Ø  You have 2 walk & and yet your way is hidden from your eyes
Ø  Tho hard work, won’t God help us who seek him?
Ø  While that may be certain, the difficulty is that we can’t always see how
Ø  We look upward, and see no twinkling star
Ø  Downward and do not even find a glow worm
Ø  Surely we’ll see a candle in some window! But no!
Ø  We are lost as if in a dark wood
Ø  Have we not somewhere about us a match that we could strike?
Ø  We fumble for it; we find it, it is damp, we have a strike, but no light
Ø  The question that now chills the heart is: “How can God deliver me?”
Ø  We do not see how God can make a way of escape our darkness
Ø  What simpletons we are to fancy that if we do not see a way of deliverance God does not see one either!
THE RHINE RIVER++++++++++++++++
Ø  Travelers who have steamed up the Rhine River testify that if you look before you, it often appears as if you can go no further
Ø  The river seems to be a lake
Ø  Great mountains and vast rocks block up all further advance
Ø  Suddenly there will be a turn in the stream, and at once a broad waterway opens before you
Ø  It invites you to enter the heart of the country
APPLICATION ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø  Perhaps in God’s providence you are in one of those parts of the river of your life where no progress appears possible
Ø  U are blocked up, turned off, or just plain angry
Ø  Any of these situations will cause darkness of mind
CONCLUSION ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø  Cease from this unbelieving bewilderment
Ø  Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him
Ø  He shall give you your heart's desire
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
