“DO” OR “BE” FOR LOVE +++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø  Chiara Lubich taught that there are those who “DO things for love”
Ø  & there R those who do things trying “to BE love”
Ø  Those who do things “4 love” may do them well, but, thinking they’re doing service 4 neighbor, who may B sick or in need, may actually annoy them w/ chatter, advice, & so-called “help”
Ø  Such “charity” can B burdensome & inappropriate
Ø  True, such folks may gain merit, but the other is left with a burden
Ø  This is why it is necessary to “BE love”
“BE-ING” LIKE THE PLANETS ++++++++++++++++++++
Ø  Our destiny’s been likened to that of the planets
Ø  If they revolve around the sun, there are
Ø  If they do not revolve around the sun, they’re not
Ø  We ARE, in the sense that life of God, not our life, lives in us, if we don’t stop loving for 1 moment
Ø  Being love places us in God and God is Love as we are told in our first reading
CONCLUSION ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø  With this understanding of being and the metaphor of the planets, the reading hits home
Ø  “Beloved, let us love 1 another, becz love is of God
Ø  Everyone who loves is begotten by G & knows G
Ø  Whoever is w/o love doesn’t know G, 4 G is love”
