Man & young son went on camping trip to mtns
Ø
Hired experienced old Native Amer guide, who led them 2 forest &
areas never have found on own
Ø
Pointing out little sights most hikers missed
Ø
Young son fascinated by guide’s ability 2 C so much in surroundings
Ø
1 day said 2 guide, “Bet you
can C G out there”
Ø
Old guide smiled & said, “Son,
as life goes on getting hard 4 me 2 C anything but G out there”
Ø
~ to our recovery; < we recover, < we C G in lives
Mary Saw God ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø
Guide helps us appreciate why honor Mary today
Ø
She saw G everywhere in her life, e.g. at work in her bringing this
child into world
Ø
She didn’t really understand, but she still saw greatness & mystery
of God at work
Ø
Today’s 1st reading from Bk of Rev, inspired writer has
vision of woman & child saved from dragon
Ø
Passage refers 2 Mary & child, Jesus
Ø
Vision sees G as stronger & winning out over forces of evil
& death
Ø
Tells us what we see as great & strong, ~ dragon, may not be
so in G’s eyes
Ø
In gospel, Mary shows she sees things in same way as vision in
Revelation
Ø
Sees G’s ways as sometimes reverse of our ways
Ø
Sees G lifting up lowly & filling hungry & being espec present
2 those who reverence him

I.e. Mary sees G & forces of life & goodness winning out
over forces of death & evil
