A GOOD LOAF OF BREAD ++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø A while ago I took a
rustic bread-baking course
Ø 2 things we learned
abt a gd loaf of bread: needed gluten & gas
Ø W/o gluten no
structure & dough runs everywhere
Ø W/o gas you may have
structure, but it doesn’t rise
JESUS AS GOOD BREAD +++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø When Jesus says he’s
bread of life he could mean bread as staff of life, bread at the table of poor &
rich alike, bread as a collective meaning food
Ø Today we’ll look at
Jesus being bread w/ great gluten & gas
Ø The gluten, structure,
is the Church
Ø The gas, yeast, the
presence of his life-giving Spirit
Ø It’s structure &
Spirit that sustained 1st XTNs in the severe persecutions of Saul of
Tarsus
WE AS
