SPRING WINDS ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø "The
wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not
know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born
of the Spirit."
Ø Words in John’s gospel are so apropos to us
seasonably
Ø In April, spring gets the upper hand; winter
starts to lose its dark, cold grip on surroundings & spirits
Ø Unlike the cold blasts of winter, spring wind
carries with it a perceptible warmth, a taste of summer
Ø A great day when you can open doors &
windows & let the spring breeze sweep through our house
Ø There's a freshness in the cool air that
reinvigorates, that cleanses, that lightens.
RUAH / PENUMA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø The warm breezes we feel this time of year
mirror the Spirit that Jesus speaks of in today's Gospel
Ø Jesus urges us to let the Spirit of God
"blow" through our lives
Ø Word spirit comes from Hebrew word
"ruah"& and Greek word "penuma," both mean
"wind" or "air"
LET IT BLOW THRU ME +++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ø Don't be afraid to open doors & windows
of life & let the "ruah" & "pneuma" of God blow
through
Ø Let Spirit of God's reconciling
"warm" relationships that’ve been long shuttered in winter isolation
Ø Let Spirit of God's peace "clean"
our souls & spirits of exhaustion & brokenness of the hard cold
Ø Let the Spirit of God's compassion
reinvigorate our lives and the lives of those we love in Easter joy
LET IT BLOW THRU MY COMMUNITY ++++++++++++++
Ø May God’s Spirit "blow" through
SLI, our homes and hearts during this Easter springtime
Ø Wash away the dirt & grime that have
accumulated in our winter half-truths & exaggerations
Ø Refresh us w/ the warmth of God’s love & peace
Ø May it lift us up out of our Good Friday
tombs of resentment & hurt into warm light of Risen Lord
